can I just say that training tuesday is seriously one of my favourite times of the week? I love that I can tell you about a tiny milestone and have so many amazing people hypothetically pat me on my back. I love that I can just keep you guys in my pocket and take you whenever I need inspiration!
as per usual I went all vloggy on you guys because I was busy and didn't have time to type up a post!
also. just noticing how awesome my grammar is in these vlogs... whoops!
I mentioned the tone it up girls and their ab routine I've been loving. definitely worth it to have a look see!
if you want to take any of their workouts with you on your phone, download the adobe reader app. I know it comes on the iphone so I assume it's on android too. you can go to the printable workout on your phone and select 'open in adobe' or download and save the file to your computer and transfer it to your phone. let me know if you need help!
can wait to check in with everyone's training tuesday posts, make sure to link up here or here!
I would love to introduce all you awesome people to the big winner of my birthday group giveaway! I was so lucky that someone who was super pumped won the giveaway and who also had a kick ass blog I get to follow.

I would love for you to go check out Kelsey, seriously she's awesome!
this will be my last post featuring sponsors. I have been lucky to have AMAZING ones but it turns out they aren't my thing!
very excited to let let you guys know about this awesome giveaway going on at Chelsea's blog!
check it out...
Please play fair.
I go through every entry so please don't be dishonest.
If one of your entries proves to be false, I will delete all other entries by you.
It's not fair to the honest people entering or to me--
the one who has to be the bad guy + delete/sort through entries!
I totally forgot about this list! I was looking through my drafted posts and figured I might give it a go again.
what are 5 passions you have?
my fam jam. does this count as a passion? I love my fam. love sunday dinners, love road trips, love being crazy people with them.
fitness. totally not a passion YET but I promise I am getting there! I actually crave going for runs. I've missed a couple because I've been doing other workouts but when I hate missing! need to get my ass in gear.
creating. by creating I mean knitting and crocheting. I just love the fact that I can make something so beautiful out of what is essentially a ball of string.
blogging/vlogging. if I don't blog for a couple days I HATE IT! I feel like I am missing out on so much! not only do I miss what is going on in everyone's life but I miss all the amazing comments and tweets and messages you guys send. I love this community!
the interwebs. holy hanna this place is addicting. I am seriously sitting here writing this post, watching a show on my ipad, and checking twitter on my phone. the internets amazing!
I can't get over this album. I'm not even kidding you I have pressed play well over 10 times. there is just something about Rebecca Roubion's voice that makes me want to replay this song again and again.
I was approached a few weeks ago to do a review on her album and I wanted to make sure I really fell in love with the tunes before I did. it took me one song to decide.
this is definitely my favourite song on the 4 track EP but every other one is very close.
Fields consists of
1. Love Me Now
2. Vacherie Girl
3. Here Lies My Pulse
4. Doorway Fields
check out the rest of the tracks here...
ps. a little birdy told me that if Rebecca hits 1,000 sales she will be releasing her next one Forests and I might get to give one lucky reader a copy :)
I've been lucky enough to listen to Forests and I might have to cheat and win the giveaway for myself, this chick is amazing!
I was given a free copy of Forests to write this post. I was not monetarily compensated at all and all opinions are all mine!!
time for another training tuesday (technically it's still monday...)! sorry if I do wayyy too many link ups but I love the topics sooo ya.
not going to lie had a pretty shitty last couple of days training wise. I am staying at my sisters while she is away (which means I'm 30 seconds from work. ah-mazing) BUT it also means that I am within 4 minutes of a million fast food chains. bad meg.
according to my run keeper app (which I can't recommend enough if you are a newbie to running) I ran/walked 12.14 kilometres (about 7.5 miles) since last tuesday. not my best. the week before it was almost 20 but still! 12 is better than none right?
not sure what happened but I just lost my ambition! I went thursday with a friend which was nice, good to have someone pushing you but I guess I thought I would do better then I did. I skipped saturday and didn't get out again until today.
BUT I am finally going to go to the gym tomorrow! I'm pretty sure I have been saying that for years now. considering I have had my membership since february I have definitely been saying it for months. a few girls at work are going to a TRX class tomorrow and they have been telling me to come with them so I am finally getting my ass in gear and just going!
ps. I had no clue what a TRX class was so I googled it. there is a good chance I will not return from class.
that shit looks rough.
on another note! I am signing up for tone it up's bikini series. basically it's 8 weeks of working your ass off to get bikini ready for the summer. not saying I will be their most dedicated member but hey, I can't pass up free personal trainers. let me know if you sign up and we can kick each others ass to get moving!
if you are anything like me, you are usually running to the gas station to grab a card on your way to the party and you end up spending twice what you should on a piece of paper they are just going to glance at. so when the lovely Lauren contacted me from Cardstore I was so intrigued! I love the idea of picture books or videos to celebrate any occasion so when she said I could make customizable holiday cards with whatever pictures I wanted and my own message I was sold!
basically you go to Cardstore, search for a type of card you want and add anything you'd like. I'm not going to show you the exact one I made because a certain someone who reads this blog might receive it!
fyi. 30% off and free shipping!
once you pick it you can start making it perfect!
it's really easy to add your pictures, choose the colour and size and place them. the option to add pictures from facebook is definitely a benefit!
once you have the pictures selected you can move to the inside and customize the message.
they have a bunch of different colour and font options to tweak it to perfection.
another super cool feature? if you make your card on an ipad there is a free app you can download to write your signature instead of just typing!
preview your card, make sure everything is perfect and select your shipping option. for you lucky americans you can pick the date you want it delivered!
spend five minutes making a personalized card when you have the time, pick the delivery date and you don't have to worry again!
do you see that price tag right there? yup, you can't get a nice card anywheres for $3.49. let alone a personalized one.
I did some more browsing, this card says "if it's any consolation, I'll change your diapers someday, too". killed me.
I was reading the wonderful Katrin's blog and she had this awesome 5 x 5 post that I am stealing and writing my version! thanks for the idea girl :)
...you'll find in my bag
1. wallet that is too big for it, I need to find a smaller one! 2. blistex. can't live without it. 3. keys. 4. iPhone if I'm on the go. 5. halls. I hate having a cold.
...you'll find in my bedroom
(technically I have two rooms. the one Luke and I sleep in and then the one with all my crap in it...) 1. a mess. 2. clothes. most hung up, some in a laundry basket, some thrown on the bed. 3. 6 boxes jammed with a mess of all my things. still have organized since the move. 4. likely Smudge curled up on the most recently cleaned clothes. he likes to get as much fur on whatever is the cleanest. 5. makeup.
...I'm currently loving.
1. big brother Canada. 2. running. 3. house sitting for my sisters and having a 1 minute commute compared to 1 hour. 4. sushi. 5. vlogging!
...quirks I have.
1. my knees crack really loud every time I squat down and people usually are shocked and convinced I'm dying. it doesn't hurt I swear! 2. I'm by impulsive. 3. when I want someone I want it asap. I don't do well when I have to wait for things. 4. I colour coordinate everything. pretty sure my boss thinks I'm five because everything is a different colour. 5. I reply conversations or events over and over if I think I offended or hurt someone.
...you'd know if we had met in real life.
1. I cannot sing worth a shit. 2. When I like a song then I listen to it 50 times in a row (same as Katrin). 3. I'm addicted to my iPhone and iPad. 4. I'm super awkward but can fake it pretty well. 5. I love reality tv.
let me know if you do this post, I'd love to read it!
breanna was the lucky 2nd place winner of my group giveaway! I'm Breanna & I blog over at Sweet Silver Lining. I'm 24 years old and from Minnesota. I just graduated from nursing school in December & am officially a licensed registered nurse - something I'm very proud of! I love country music & Nashville is definitely my dream city. I'm a total girly girl and love the color pink and sparkles. I blog about my life as a nurse & have started a new blog feature titled Notes on Nursing, which will feature nurses and nursing students every Thursday. I also blog about things I love and my everyday life. Come join me in my adventures!
I am a twenty something southern girl. I ride horses and drink sweet tea like it's going out of style. I blog about a little bit of everything. From marriage to fashion to horses or recipes. I just write what's on my mind.
if you follow me on twitter then you know that I recently started doing a running program. now I'm no expert but hell, that's what training tuesday is all about right! no expert status needed. if you are someone who has decided to get up and do something to make your life healthier then this link up is where it's at yo!
the masterminds behind this link up, tamara and abby.
I chose to go with an app to help me out and keep track. after looking around for a bit I went with runkeeper and love it! they have a bunch of different programs for you to follow so you just pick one, pick a start day and bada boom bada bing you're in!
I chose to train for a 5k walk and started last sunday on march 31st. you go every second day so it's totally do able. I missed saturday due to snow (YES, snow! goddammit mother nature it's april!) and because my sinuses decided to be ass holes. I just went sunday and monday to make up for it.
and I don't think run/walking while you have a cold make it's any worse. not that my cold is better after my workout but it's definitely not worse.
as for workouts... I picked up my gym membership! that counts for something right? I made it to the front desk at the gym but have yet to actually go in. maybe today is that day! I am going to look for an arms work out once I'm done writing this and hopefully I will get there at lunch.
that's it! that's the extent of my training. not a lot but it's a shit load more then last month!
